2019 Premier's Reading Challenge

Engadine High School

It has been another excellent year for the NSW Premier's Reading Challenge. Congratulations to our reward recipients in 2019. 243 students from Years 7-9 registered to take on the challenge of reading 20 books in one year.

Well done to our 86 students who succeeded. Among these students we had 12 students receive a Gold certificate which recognises 4 years of completing the PRC and 10 students were awarded a Platinum certificate for completing the PRC for 7 years.  5 of our students were awarded the most prestigious PRC Medal at Presentation Night for completing the PRC every year from Year 3 to Year 9 (inclusive). This is an incredible achievement with 705 students from across NSW receiving the medal this year.

The PRC encourages students to read widely and to develop habits of lifelong reading. Students who participate in the Challenge are fostering a love of reading and improving their literacy. Thank you to all members of our school community who supported students to participate in this important initiative.
