On Friday the 15th of February, 46 students from the Year 11 SRC, CAFS and VET Entertainment attended the annual Premier's Gala Concert at the International Convention Centre.
This is a concert organised to thank and celebrate the seniors for all that they have contributed to the community over the years.
Throughout the course of the day, students were separated into smaller teams, with an assigned TAFE Events student leader, with our first job being to place out a program and healthy lifestyle book on a total of 8000 seats. From this, each was student allocated an entrance point where they would await the arrival of the guests to usher them to their seats. Since there were 2 concerts for the day, students performed this twice which means we placed around a total of 32,000 books on seats!
As the seniors were leaving their seats at the end of the concert, there were many stories told and thanks given. This made the students feel proud and glad that they were able to experience such an amazing day and hope that next year we will be able to help out again.
