‘Face-to-face Special Religious Education (SRE), Special Education in Ethics (SEE) and Voluntary student activities of a religious nature in schools (VSA) will not be available until schools resume normal operations (phase 4). This includes the use of interactive online media such as Google Classrooms, Skype or Zoom.’

SRE Organisation

At Engadine High School, SRE runs for 1 period once a fortnight for Year 7 and 8.

SRE Teachers authorised by local SRE Providers facilitate these lessons.

Students who have opted out of SRE are supervised by their classroom teachers. During this time, these students are reading or doing quiet study. They are not engaged in school curriculum activities.

Currently, Special Ethics Education (SEE) does not run.

Authorised SRE Teachers

Each SRE teacher listed below is appropriately authorised by the above SRE Providers according to Department of Education guidelines, has SRE Accreditation Training and has met relevant requirements under the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012 and the Child Protection (Working with Children) Regulation 2013.

In compliance with the Department of Education’s Religious Education Implementation Procedures, the teachers have had their WWCC number verified by their authorising SRE Provider. Generate Ministries has also verified WWCC numbers of all employees.

SRE Curriculum

All SRE teachers employed by Generate are required to use materials that are Endorsed Implementations of the Generate Curriculum Framework.

The SRE curriculum taught at Engadine High School is Think Faith – Authorised by Anglican Church Diocese of Sydney.

Generate Ministries

SRE teachers are employed by Generate Ministries, which is a joint ministry between Scripture Union NSW, Sydney Anglican Youthworks, NSW & ACT Baptist Churches and Presbyterian Youth NSW. Generate seeks to provide support, strength and unity to NSW High School Scripture Teachers, Scripture Boards, Chaplains and Chaplaincy Support Teams providing quality Christian ministries.
