Premier’s Reading Challenge 2021

The NSW PRC has had an outstanding year, with almost 439,000 students participating in the Challenge. Stories can inspire, encourage, and connect readers, and the Premier Dominic Perrottet MP passes on his congratulations to our school and students for their participation.

We are very proud of the 252 students who attempted the PRC this year. Congratulations to the 86 students who completed the Challenge. This is a wonderful achievement particularly given the additional challenges of 2021.

We extend our biggest congratulations to three of our Year 9 students who will receive the prestigious PRC Medal. These students have completed the PRC every year from Year 3 to Year 9. 882 students from across NSW received PRC Medal this year.

Congratulations to Addison Winkleman, Patrick Everitt and Rebecca Everitt on this outstanding achievement.

Several students were awarded the Platinum Certificate for completing seven years of the PRC.

Congratulations to Jack Ahrens, Max Amesbury, Eloise Chowdhury, Ashleigh Coates, Sophie Harrison, Mia Inglis, Chloe Lewis, Hayley Moorcroft, Jordan Phillips, Ileana Pinjo Soto, Sienna Prykiel, Caitlin Rameka, Toby Webb and James Yock.

Congratulations is also extended to the following students who have been awarded a Gold Certificate for completing 4 years of the PRC. Well don Jasmine Beck, Mikayla Hall, Chloe Hesse, Matilda Maddocks, Emerald Markham, Lauren Maynard, Madaleine Mejias, Heidi Ryan-Sweeney and Kyah Winton.

The NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge encourages students to engage with reading for leisure and pleasure, and to read from a wide range of authors, styles and genres. Students who participate in the Challenge are working towards reaching achievable goals, including building their sense of empathy and fostering a love of reading. As a community effort, the Challenge builds connections between students, their families, and the school.

Well done EHS readers!
