Engadine High School

It is with great sadness that I share with you the passing of one of our own.  Damon Shepherd was a student in Year 11 who has shown the greatest of determination in his young life.

Often we speak of tragedies and there is no doubt that our students, in particular Year 11, and our staff feel this tragedy most strongly.  Damon’s long battle was marked by his unwavering belief that he would grow to be a young man ready to take on the world. He thoughtfully chose his senior subjects with a view to his desire to go into I.T.  Damon was, and will always be, a part of our school.

His year group rallied behind him producing cards, videos and collecting for gifts, money for parking at the hospital and for Damon’s beloved Lego.  Damon’s legacy for us will be his fierce desire to live his life without compromise and never to accept what others may consider inevitable.  Damon we salute you and you will be sadly missed.
