From the Principal

Engadine High School

A warm welcome to all of our students as they begin a year of learning in all of its forms. Students are the product of a constantly changing world, therefore it is even more important today that they have a strong support network from which to learn and to feel safe as they encounter these increasingly challenging world and social situations.

We welcome the strong partnerships which develop with parents as we all negotiate the shared learning of students. I wish to thank the extraordinary support of our P&C and particularly the phenomenal efforts of Mrs Kathleen Wagner who runs our uniform shop. I encourage any parent who is able to offer a couple of hours a month to work with the lovely Kathleen in our uniform shop which is generally open each Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

Parents, please ensure your child, if they ride to school, leaves home with (and wears) a helmet. It is great to see an increase in the number of students cycling to school, but our concern, of course, is to keep them safe.

I would like to thank and congratulate Ms Van Breda, who, in conjunction with a teacher from Menai High, led our students on a life changing adventure with World Challenge to Laos and Cambodia during the school holidays. Their adventures, their learning and their photos are spectacular. I encourage you to enjoy reading about their expedition in this edition.

May 2018 be another phenomenal year for our students as they rise to every challenge, seek to always improve on their personal best, develop and hone new skills, interact positively with their peers and community, utilise social media for good, develop resilience and deep and long lasting friendships, and most importantly laugh often and be happy.
