The Engadine High School SSC attended the ZooSnooz at Taronga Zoo last Wednesday. It was an exciting sleepover experience that allowed our students to learn about animals and the environment in a unique location.
The students enjoyed a night safari tour before meeting some native reptiles up close. They then went to bed in the Backyard to Bush house surrounded by many strange and interesting insects and spiders!
In the morning they met the Tasmanian Devil zookeeper, and were privileged to witness the two Tassie Devils enjoy feeding time. Students learnt about the problems the species face, and the conservation efforts of the zoo to protect these amazing native animals.
For the first time the SSC embarked on the Zoo’s Wild Ropes tour, a tree tops ropes course over zoo exhibits. It was an awesome and rewarding challenge to complete the course which was at times quite scary!
