The Year 9 group members from the Student Sustainability Council have collected over 14 kilograms of mobile phones, tablets, batteries, chargers and other accessories to send off to Mobile Muster to be deconstructed and recycled, helping reduce greenhouse gas emissions,
mineral sources and CO2 emissions.
Mobile phone companies have one the biggest impacts on the environment as they are not recycled or rescued often. Mobile a muster is an organization determined to change that. Mobile muster is voluntarily funded by all of the major handset manufacturers and network
carriers to provide a free mobile phone recycling program in Australia that is dedicated to raising awareness and educating the community on why it is important to recycle. They have been around for 21 years and have made a huge change for the environment , collecting nearly 1,500,000 kilograms of mobiles, wires, and other electronics.
