Mathematics is a powerful mechanism through which we view the world. Students at Engadine High study the beauty of Mathematics and develop an understanding to provide applications to the real world.
Our classes aim to create confidence and enjoyment in doing mathematical activities. Students acquire an awareness and appreciation of how Mathematics can be used to solve problems in everyday life. They also learn of its contribution to the development of society.
Technology is an integral part of our teaching and learning to assist and support mathematical ideas. Students simulate real world problems using digital technologies. With the use of personal devices becoming more common, the Mathematics faculty is developing new and interesting ways that technology can be utilised in the classroom.
Our staff provide an exciting and creative learning environment in which students are free to explore their mathematics abilities by linking the appeal of patterns, relationships, reasons and outcomes. The important ideas of Mathematics leads into the fields of sport, engineering, architecture, media and communication, the sciences, and many more.

"If people do not believe that Mathematics is simple, it is only because they do not realize how complicated life is."
John Louis von Neumann
"One of the most amazing things about Mathematics is the people who do Mathematics, aren’t usually interested in application, because Mathematics itself is truly a beautiful art form. It is structures and patterns, and that is what we love, and get excited about."
