Uniform Policy

Engadine High School

Ratified by P&C 14 June 2017

The School Uniform Policy

We ask all our students to wear their uniform with pride and dignity and strongly understand that untidy dress or misbehaviour whilst dressed in the school uniform brings discredit to the school, themselves and parents. All students are required to wear the correct school uniform every day. Students will be given a change-over period to transition between summer and winter uniforms, and they will be expected to abide by this period.

Correct Uniform

Shirts / Blouses

The school shirt or blouse must be worn every day. All buttons are to be done up except the top button near the collar. The PE shirt can only be worn on non-sport days. Only white or concealed flesh coloured singlets or undergarments are to be worn under the school shirt or blouse. Visible long sleeve tops under school shirts or blouses are not acceptable. Students will be asked to remove this clothing.

Trousers/ Slacks

Trousers and slacks should be hemmed neatly and sit on the shoe in such a way that does not create a potential trip hazard.

Dresses/ Shirts

The dress can be worn in summer, and during winter with navy or black stockings/ tights. The skirt is for students in Years 11 and 12.

Sports Uniform

Students in Years 7-10 are expected to wear the full sports uniform on Wednesdays. This is the only occasion that the sports uniform can be worn to and from school. If a student has a PE class during the day, they are expected to wear their school uniform to school and change for their PE lesson. After the PE lesson, students are expected to change back into their school uniform. The blue school tracksuit pants may be worn on Wednesdays ONLY (sport day)

Out of Uniform Policy

Engadine High School has a strict Uniform Policy which has been ratified by the P&C. All students are expected to wear the correct uniform.

Uniform passes are issued to students who are out of uniform. Uniform passes are issued every school day by roll call teachers. Students must have a note, signed and dated by a parent or guardian, stating the reason for being out of uniform. After three occasions of having a note when out of uniform throughout the school year, ‘Unsatisfactory’ is included on their report and a Tuesday After School Detention is issued.

The School Uniform Shop

The school uniform shop is located in A Block where all items of the school uniform may be purchased. The Uniform Shop is open on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, between 8.00am and 11am, and staffed by a member of the P&C.  Items of uniform which are no longer needed by students are gratefully accepted. These items must be washed/dry-cleaned and may be distributed to students in need of such items.

How to order uniform items

Complete the order form and seal it with cash or credit card slip in an envelope. Students can submit the envelope to the Office in A Block. Uniform Shop staff will fill the order and students will be advised when they can collect the uniform items from the Office. Alternatively, parents can come to school and purchase directly from the shop.
