These are the words that I can use to describe my experience at the 2016 Refugee Challenge. Most people will never experience what a refugee has throughout their eventful life, but today I got a feel for the challenging and stressful moments they face every day.

SRC Fundraising for Mercy Huts

The SRC’s latest fundraiser was a great success. The Year 7 and 8 students chose to support Mercy Huts as their major project for 2016. Mercy Huts is a registered charity establishing not for profit beachfront retreats that will help empower communities living in poverty in remote Indonesia. This organisation in fact was cofounded by one of our own student families, the Thistlethwaites.

Free Graduated Licensing Scheme Workshops for Learner Driver Parents in the Sutherland Shire

Young drivers are three times more likely to be involved in casualty crashes. That's why the Roads and Maritime Services has introduced a new licensing scheme, with more supervised driving practice for learner drivers.

To help parents in supervising learner drivers, the Roads and Maritime Services has set up a FREE 2 hour workshop for parents offering practical advice on how to help learner drivers become safer drivers.  

A FREE parents' workshop will be conducted by David Riches and hosted by Sutherland Shire Council on Wednesday August 17th at Sutherland Shire Council Officesin Eton Street from 7.00 pm – 9.00 pm.
